Census Tract Demographics, Tract Locator, and Maps- Zip Code Finder Too!

Data from Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council includes current population and family income estimates, and one click access to census tract map. Enter info in the form and click "Find". If you don't know the zip code, leave it blank. If the address is right, results will give you the zip. This system requires that you enter a street address along with either a city and state OR a zip code.

Most recent estimates from the Census Bureau for every populated place in the US over 10,000 population.

City and County Population Estimates- 2000

The population bible published by the Florida Legislature and the University of Florida Bureau of Business and Economic Research. Current population estimates for every municipality in the state. It's a 15 page .pdf file, so be patient. If you don't already

City, County, MSA, Zipcode Demographics

Huge database for geographies from zip codes to national. You'll need to fill out a registration form.  Year of data is not always obvious. When in doubt check it out! From Easi Analytic Software. 

County and Zip Code- Detailed Demographics

Population, Housing, Income, Consumer Expenditures, and more with 1998 and 2003 projections. Enter zip code, then click on "AREA FACTS" under the "More Details" tab in the following window. From Homes.com. Take your time and dig down for a wealth of data! Well documented, but we noted some inconsistencies between incomes and consumer expenditures in some series.

Chamber of Commerce Data- Directory by Locality

Directory of local Chamber of Commerce websites. Some have demographic data. Most provide a community profile. They're puff pieces. But it's a start.

Short narrative profiles of towns and cities in the South Florida region, with some data, from Digital Cities and the Sun-Sentinel.

1999 data from  from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Now this is interesting.

Region, County, and City- Miscellaneous Data

ZIP Code Lookup by address

Form from the USPS. Type in the address, it gives you the ZIP code. Probably the most useful thing on the internet. By the way, did you know that ZIP is an acronym for Zone Improvement Program. Now there's one for your next Trivia game.

ZIP Codes- Summary Demographics

Once you find the ZIP code you can get a little demographic profile with a  short narrative profile, from the folks at CACI-IDS. Very easy!
